Amazon Kindle 2

A measurable improvement to a revolution in reading.

When the Amazon Kindle launched, many people didn't quite understand the device. The screen is not in color, its not a phone but it has a keyboard, and it really isn't a PDA.

What the hell is this thing? It is the future of reading.

The Amazon Kindle's technology is based entirely around how best to improve your reading experience. The screen is an E-ink display, that is entirely different than what you are used to. This display can be read in high light conditions, as it is perfectly matte. There is no backlight. It also has a fantastic contrast ratio, and requires no power other than to change pages.

Since it is not actually paper though, it can do fantastic things. Do you have bad eyes? Crank up the size of the font! No more reading glasses. Are you looking for that one quote? Just do a search.

Even if you get tired of reading you can have it read to you with fantastic text to speech capabilities that actually work, with minimal awkward robotyness. Want your book performed by an experience voice actor? The Kindle can play your audible books too.

Imagine if you had this in school, you would never have to carry books, just your Kindle.

The Kindle comes with lifetime EVDO access to download books. Oh, you want to read The Wealth of Nations? Type in the name, hit buy, and BAM! The book is in your hand in seconds. You can carry your entire book collection with you, at all times, and it is as small and light as a paperback.

But wait there is more.

You can subscribe to newspapers and blogs, and they will automatically update with new content. No more walking outside to get the newspaper, it just comes over the air to your Kindle without you even having to think about it. Want to read a blog? No problem, read it on your kindle.

People say that the price is a little steep at $360, but realize that this provides all of the service you will ever need. You can even browse the internet on this thing! Buy this device once, and access the internet for life.

Amazon has really created something special here.
