iOS Pick: Microsoft Seeing AI

Megan Morrone's app cap on iOS Today 352 is Seeing AI from Microsoft. This is a new app that uses artificial intelligence to help people with low vision. All you need to do is point the phone camera at various things and it will tell you what those things are. It works with products, people, documents, short text, scenes, and soon it will be able to identify currency.

When you point Seeing AI at text, it will immediately speak that text out loud. For products, it will beep to help you locate the barcode, and then it will scan that barcode and tell you what it is. It also can look at people's faces and tell you what their facial expression is and approximately how old they are. Scenes are still experimental, but it can tell you what objects it sees.
